The Quarter – Brooklyn, NY

I'm going yo go with American fusion as the menu is varied with American internationdishes - think General Tso's Chicken buns and baja fish tacos.

Set down thes stiars of a walk up on Lafayette Avenue Brooklyn, you're greeted by a handle-bar moustached hipster and a warm, welcoming atmosphere lit byt hipster lights bulbs with of a mix of high and low tables and ample bar seating. there's also a nice garden out the back though the briskautumn evening on which I arrived did not appeal to al fresco dining.

Sadly we had missed happy hour which runs 4-6pm but prices weren't entirely unreasonable. They are more geared towards wine and have a wide list, they even have a few "craft" beers though I struggle to see how Lagunitas featured on that list.

Food ranged from sharable to entrees. Having only limited time and hunger, we opted for sharing plates and had the feta stuff bacon wrapped dates, the lamb tacos and General Tso's Chicken Bun.

Opinions were divided on the dates between bland and pleasantly mild compared to the usual blue cheese attempt. The lamb tacos were phenomenal. Nothing more to sayother than you have to eat them. And you get 4 unlike those many places that like to give you three of things which is impossoible to share with most normal sized parties.

Next to general Tso's chicken bun. I wasn't sure how this would go, fearing it to be just another fried chicken but I was oh so wrong. I wish we had ordered two. there was an incredible conmbination of flavours and textures which seemed to change with every mouthful. (Gee don't I sound a bit of a wanker). The crispy chicken and the ginger and, well, it was just awesome.

Prices are on the higher side but not ridiculous, but the return on investment is worth it. Services was attentive and friendly whilst giving you your space.

They also have a second location in the West Village if you're not a Brooklyn-ite.

I will be back. Maybe to the West Village next time. Maybe brunch... To be continued...
